Company History
After WWII, Harvard graduate Dick Fisher performed extensive research on polyurethane foam and concluded that it is an excellent material for boat construction. After experimenting further, he came up with a V-hull design and launched Boston Whaler in 1956. The extreme buoyancy of this material makes them borderline unsinkable, and this attribute made these new products extremely popular.
The United States Navy SEALs and the Coast Guard have used Boston Whaler boats extensively, helping the company count these illustrious institutions among their satisfied customers.
